GOMIS is a ready-to-wear brand for women created by Mélanie Gomis in Marseille, FRANCE.

‘ After a training in sewing initiated at the age of 14, followed by the “Beaux-Arts” (fine arts) and the “Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne”, I pursued my studies at Central Saint Martins. My education enabled me with the necessary skills required to be a stylist, focused on care and technicality.

I was then able to put my learning and skills to use for several haute-couture and ready-to-wear studios, my most impactful experience being as an assistant to Georges Hobeika in Beirut.

My background has allowed me to understand what the spirit of craftsmanship is, which I define by constant research, mastering techniques, as well as quality that I wish to transmit and invest in my creations.

At 26, I decided to trust my skills and my intuition in order to create a global and ethical brand: GOMIS.

My creations are timeless, made from noble, natural or recycled materials, and adorned with delicate hand-embroidered designs. I consider my collections to be visual reflections of our time, bold pieces that draw inspiration from the past to fit into the present and embed themselves in the future. ‘ Melanie GOMIS.
